a few things that happened over the weekend:
1. exam on early saturday morning. spent some 15 minutes on an 1 hour mcq paper. don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say the questions are super-easy and it's piece-of-cake etc etc... all i'm saying is before they try to evaluate our performance according to our percentage of correct attempts they should evaluate the question paper first.
or evaluate the whole panel.
it's after the examination i realized a few things: i don't even know the treatment options for diseases like ulcerative colitis/crohn's disease (if there are any, of course...), nor did I become an expert in hepatology after spending enormous amount of time on the lecture notes.
in other words, hard facts just don't make clinical practice any easier, and i thought they knew better. nuff said.
2. curry-in-a-hurry - not as tasty when they're not in a 'hurry' afterall... make sure your serving of curry is freshly prepared. (translation - only order if there's a line at the booth) or otherwise expect a ripoff.
3. page one. there's actually a cheaper American version of J.Grisham's The Broker available, with a NICER cover too. Refund/exchange policy only lasts for 7 days. darnit.
4. got hold of Fort Minor's album. what can i say, it's got some cool tracks but I have a feeling I'm not going to play it as often as I'm supposed to be after paying that much for an album. maybe i've grown to like pop rock even more (oh I meant to say 'Adult Contemporary').

the others just haven't made an impression (yet).

5. Got hold of several albums, including Linds' and Shakira's. As much as I hate 'Confessions of a Broken Heart', her voice, the album title 'A Little More Personal (RAW)' - isn't the '(RAW)' part looks forced? surprisingly there are some tracks that are NOT rubbish. On the contrary Shakira's Oral Fixation volume 1 sounds much more interesting than vol. 2.
6. Watching the new Corrs 'All the way home + Live in Geneva' double DVD is ultimate joy. a few photos say it all: when they were so young, so young... Caroline's baby girl with aunt Andrea!
the documentary captures so many joyful moments... Sharon's and Caroline's weddings. the Corrs getting a record deal. making of the albums. doing The Point, Royal Albert Hall, and then Lansdowne Road.
You HAVE to love this band, this adorable family.
Second part is Live in Geneva. Great gig, nice setlist (as fantastic as the Toronto gig) but whose decision was it to leave out Hideaway!?!
That was filmed exactly one year ago, 26 November 04. Magical moments would be Dreams, Trout In A Bath, Queen of Hollywood, Long Night, Old Town, Summer Sunshine and Goodbye.
It's one great show, and I'm glad they filmed it. Not agreeing with the director's approach in editting the DVD, but otherwise it's a great pleasure to watch.
How I wish they could film the 2005 Bonn gig as well.
... still remembering how it all happened to me. It was a BA flight from LHR to HKG, the Dreams Tee's Radio mix got played, got hooked eversince.
